Holiday Traditions

Christmas is fast approaching and in our house, this is definitely our favorite holiday. This is a very special time of year and hopefully it means wonderful family celebrations and time with friends. As much as we love this time of year, it often brings a lot of stress. It seems like our "to-do" and shopping lists are never-ending. Not to mention all the extra time spent in the kitchen baking or making special meals for family and friends.

One of my favorite family traditions is Christmas Eve. We always attend a wonderful Christmas Eve service where my family and I can all spend time focusing on the real meaning of Christmas. Afterwards, family gathers at our house to open gifts and to enjoy a big spread of delicious appetizers. This year we will be serving our new Gouda Macaroni and Cheese Bites and Spinach Artichoke Dip. I'm so thankful these are made ahead of time to make entertaining just a little easier. I also love our traditional Christmas morning when my husband and kids celebrate our family Christmas opening gifts and eating a yummy breakfast. The kids usually request Monkey Bread or better yet, The Dinner Club's Praline Stuffed French Toast and Holiday Quiche. Love, love, love these for breakfast! Finally, the family tradition my family absolutely loves is spending the week after Christmas with my extended family in Ohio. My sister and her family own a beautiful Inn that houses our large extended family. Cousins get the run of the Inn and basically we spend the week relaxing and eating. It is such a special time of year for my family. We are super thankful for the meals we can bring from The Dinner Club to make mealtime extra easy at the Inn. Club Lasagna and Italian-Style Chicken Tenders are always brought to this family gathering.
